In the strategy card shown, the player's two-card hand is lied down the left side and the dealer's up-card is shown across the top. If the dealer is showing an 8 and the player has a total of 14, follow across and down to where those columns intersect: that is the correct strategy. In this example, the player would hit. When Basic Strategy for BlackJack is properly used, the house advantage is decreased to less than 1%. The strategy card is legal and the casinos allow it on the tables!
